A Toast to Those at the Bridge

For Angus Fala, Henry, Stanzie, Cody, Cinderella, Bart, Mya, Beau, Dietzman Long, Max, Bailey, Oceana, Ming, Phantom and any other beloved pets we know who left for the Bridge recently. We raise a toast to you with a little poem.

May you be free from anything but joy until we meet again, and may your humans find comfort in your memory.

Shadows fall in their swift and silent passage
echoing the last word of our common fate
The sorrow of the world surrounds us
carried upon chill air like smoke
Let us pour a dram of scotch
as our solitude  descends
We drink the smoke in
so sorrow may sleep

  8. Oh thank you so much for remembering our Dietzy what a wonderful surprise this morning for my mom to read. She was just thinking about him on hers way to work. We know we were blessed to have had him so long, but it still hurts our hearts when we realize he is gone. Hugs....Stella Rose and Momma

  10. What a pretty poem! We miss our girlie doggies, Old Charisma and Miss Ginger every day even though they've been gone a long time. We have a little shrine on the top shelf of the TV cabinet with their ashes and a collection of little cocker spaniel figures and squeaky toys.
