Just a Little Prayer

For Mom's family out West.  Camera shy Dottie, the rescue cattle dog mix, travels to the Bridge today due to advanced, and only now diagnosed, cancer on the spleen and internal bleeding the doctors can't fix.

She's the sweetest little dog and Grandpa's best buddy. She belongs to Mom's cousin Liz, who grew up playing with Mom and is like a sister, and having lost both of her parents too young, is another daughter for Grandpa.

Mom feels terrible she's far away and can't be there in time - but she is holding the family close in spirit.

Update:  Just got word that Dad's been admitted to the hospital, and then found out it's not life threatening.  He's got a really bad bladder infection so they'll have him on an antibiotic IV for today and tomorrow.  Glad it's not worse than that.

  1. Sad news, indeed, but thankful she had a loving home in her last days. I've become very partial to the cattledog since adopting our Maggie. Awesome, loyal dogs.

  10. Thank you for your kindness and support. Dad is taking it kind of hard. He's outlived two children, two wives, all of his friends, and recently lost his own dog so it's just another loss for him. I'll give he and Liz a call before sleep, offering all the love I can.
