System Error

Comcast quit working for over six hours today, for the whole Village.  Mom was trying to work from home, and ended up having to use leave since she couldn't work, and there wasn't enough time to actually make the trip into the city to go to the workplace there since she had her acupuncturist appointment on her lunch break in the early afternoon. Plus she missed a dead lion she was supposed to handle and she has a new secretary, a  young man just out of the Army, and she wasn't online to help HIM get help with some things.

Let's just say she's a little bit CRANKY tonight.  She's banging around the kitchen with a wooden spoon muttering HBO phrases that involve "Comcast."  Plus she said this Friday on Casual Day she's going to go in  to work wearing a bathrobe and a tiara with a box of wine under her arm.

I think I will stay out of her way for a bit.  Dad has been warned and will arrive home bearing alcohol and a box of Dots.  Thank goodness there's fried chicken left from last night or dinner might have been just something on the rocks.

Especially if it is interfering with their ability to gets their work done. It is The Danger Zone. You should hears my Ma when this happens...wells, I guess I don't have to tell you! BOL!!
Nows, when she finally sits down with her 87th drinkie, sneak in and puts your chin on her leggie. This will instantly calm her down. Or she will start slur-singing her favorite show tune....it's a crap shoot which one. Lets me know how it goes.

  9. I can really empathize with you Abby Lab. We have Comcast too and mum really hates it. Unfortunately our building faces in the wrong direction so we cannot get satellite and we are totally stuck with Comcast -- which, by the way is more expensive than others!!!!! One of the things that really bugs mum is that if, for some reason the bill does not get paid (which used to happen when she mailed the payment in -- now she does it online), they disconnect service and THEN in form you that if you do not pay in time (usually a day or two BEFORE said notice) they are going to disconnect!!!! *sigh* oh well.
