Why Everyone is Ordering These $12 Leggings (Internet Ads and your Dog)

You're all seen the ads off on the sidebar of a popular news site, with a eye-catching picture or headline. I'll admit the ones with the rescued puppies have always drawn me in, until I realized I had to scroll through incredibly S-L-O-W loading pages, one at a time, filled with more ads and usually give up before reaching the end of the story.  Many have pictures that aren't even in the stream (celebrities you didn't know had died - well because they hadn't).  Arghhhhh.

 Click Bait

Clickbait is a pejorative term describing web content that is aimed at generating online advertising revenue, especially at the expense of quality or accuracy, relying on sensationalist headlines or eye-catching thumbnail pictures to attract click-throughs and to encourage forwarding of the material over online social media.

But since it's Friday and visits are few I'm going to offer Abby Lab Clickbait - (no actual links just for grins on my lunch break). Cheers!

BOL... all the better for being unclickable!!! Nice posing Abby. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

    1. Thanks YAM-aunty! Mom and I had fun with that.

  2. BOL, we love your clickbait! BTW, Momma wanted to let you know that we had Christmas with her brother yesterday, and he gave her the Book of Barkley! She's so excited to read it.

    1. You have a good brother! Mom said to tell you the first chapter requires Kleenix but there is a TON of humor in the book, especially the scene where Dad showed up with wine to propose to Mom and she just got rained on with dog poop (only Mom can manage that). Enjoy

  3. I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate those stupid clickbait ads. However, I love your dog photos.

    1. Frankie - tell your Mom that Dad and Mom U-Pee-S'd a few pounds of the 150 year old grist mill cornmeal to your house. Store it in the freezer (Mom double bagged it in gallon freezer bags). It makes THE best corn pancakes and bread!

The mill recipes are at this link you can cut and paste into your little browser window:

  9. you are the advetertiser for happiness abby and I love that :o) Happy New Year to you and your furmily...

  10. Sounds about right! Those things drive ghostwriter crazy. And yes, sometimes you don't even get to the end of the story, if there is one! Or else they trick you into thinking you've clicked on the right place to turn the page and it turns out to be an ad. We like your headlines, though.

  11. Yup, they make us crazy so we try to ignore them butt sometimes we get sucked in. Happy New Year!

    Your Pals,

    Murphy & Stanley

  12. Just when I didn't think anyone would fall for those ads, my son got a virus from one. I just love your sense of humor. :) Amy
