Home From the Dogtor~

Abby Lab here - I was good at the Dogtor, getting my canine flu shot. There was a big scary looking German Shepherd that came in and he turned out to be a big softie, and he was wheezing because he was so scared to be there. I wagged my tail for him and he settled down.

I don't know about everyone else, but I LIKE going to the Dogtor.

Still, I behaved so I figured I would get an extra treat.

Hey Dad, what's in the bag, is that treats for me?

What do you mean that's just my flea and heartworm medicine?

Are you SURE there aren't treats in there?

Wait - Mom fixed a little deep dish pizza for lunch and there are two big pieces left! That will be my extra treats, pizza bones!

Curses foiled again!~

Oh gurl, sounds like you loves the vettie a litttttle more than I do! They're always pokin' and proddin', and PROBING! so not right. Anyhu, I'm with you, if I gots extra treaties, it would be FABulous! Though, they do have a small trash can in the waiting room that I always likes to pillage...that's always funs! Oh, and they have a plant that I likes to taste too! yeah, maybe the vettie needs a new consultant for the waiting area.....☺
I am glads you gots all your essentials, and you are a-okays! I hopes you got TWO treaties for your most EXCELLENT behavior!

Most of our pups like to go to the dogtor too - Especially because they give cheese in the can while we're there, and afterwards, there are treats if I don't forget! :-)

About Barkley and His Mom

My Mom started this blog due to requests from friends who wanted a place to go for stories of her furry friend Barkley that weren't in the book and stories of my rescue and new life in my furever home. She donates all of the proceeds from her writing to animal rescue and groups that train search and rescue and service dogs but that's OK, as she still gives me lots of dog treats and toys.

The Book of Barkley is Mom's first memoir. She used to be a jet pilot for somebody's Uncle but now has a Ph.D. in something involving science and forensics which is like TV but without expensive suits or cleavage. Additional mayhem is provided by my Dad and our 100-year-old "fixer upper" Mission Bungalow.

Her second memoir "Saving Grace - A Story of Adoption" was published in April of 2015". Her Third Book - "Small Town Roads", her first Fiction Novel was published October of 2016 and was an NPR selected "2017 must read" and 2017 Readers Favorite International Book Award GOLD for "Fiction - Religious Theme". Her 4th book, "Calexit, The Anthology", a Novella with other authors, was published in October of 2017 and was on the Amazon Best Seller's list two days later. Her fifth book "True Course - Lessons from Life Aloft" was a #1 best seller at Amazon 24 hours after publishing so I think she has been bribing you all with treats.
