The bumblebees sure do love the cone flowers! We have some of those too. They come up every year despite all neglect and Chester "watering" them! I was just about to pull up all the milkweeds, but I'm suddenly seeing monarch butterflies visiting them. Finally!
When they are done for the year, Dad takes a few of the roots and makes a tincture out of them with some vodka. It's a natural antibiotic, good to have on hand in case of natural disaster when no other sources available.
