Abby Lab here with a pre-Valentine's Advisory for you Who-mans. We figured Dad might get Mom something from here. . .
you know, cuz he's a guy and hates shopping, but she requested products from SACS & Co., a bath, skin, and home product company run by two female Artisans in Indiana who are sisters.
When Mom's personal trainer who made the Simply Birgit skin care moved and sold her house and shop to get married and discontinued the line, she had to find some good bath and lotion goodies. When a friend of hers gave her some of SACS soap and bath fizzies from a visit to their wonderful shop in Winona Lake, IN she was hooked (especially when you can get a bath fizzy that smells like Dark Chocolate).
She has a review up at:
I need to go check on her now. She put some of the Lemongrass scented whipped shea butter on her hands and itchy arms and now she is over on the couch huffing her wrists.
So go check them out and if you would like some (they have products for both men and women) drop what Mom calls a "Clue by Four" on your spouse or partner and see what they come up with. Mom's also going to order some of their unrefined, unscented shea butter for my paws and furs. At less than $5 for a jar that will last me a couple of months, it's a great bargain.
Shea butter is a 100% natural ingredient and specifically in Africa where the Karite (or Shea) tree is indigenous, the natural fat extracted from the nut or seed has been used for generations to help protect the skin and hair from harsh elements including the sun.
Dogs’ skin is also not immune to the effects of environmental stressors, and many breeds are also naturally prone to skin problems including:
Mom - you're falling behind!
Irritated, red skin
Itchy skin
Red bumps
Dry skin
Scaliness
Dogs often make skin problems worse by scratching, biting, and licking irritated areas, as well as possibly picking up fleas and ticks from romping outdoors, and incurring the damaging effects of sun, the wind, and salt water (if you live near the ocean and have a water-loving dog).
The same soothing properties of shea butter that work wonders for human skin also can prevent as well as heal irritation in dogs’ problem skin. Shea butter soothes, softens, and hydrates skin. Also, shea butter is a natural sun protectant and moisturizes and conditions the fur to maintain and boost shine.
You can order some at:
(The unrefined shea butter can be found on their menu under products/bath and body menu/page 4).
Thank you SACS & Co. for making both Mom and me soft and beautiful.
Abby T. Lab
Will have to check that out!
ReplyDeleteIf they don't ship to Canada and there is something you'd really like, let me know and I will order and UPS it to you. I have extended family in Canada (my late husband was from Quebec) and am familiar with shipping.
