A simple walk on a forested path. The woods are totally still, no others around. It's the country, there's trees, sunshine, birds chirping. It's safe to be here, all alone, out along an isolated road, far from home. Right Abby?
But then we stumbled across a bobcat, lying in wait along the path. We were lucky it didn't notice us and we were able to turn around quietly and leave the area.
You all be careful out there. :-)
And we suspect that Bobcat was nearly extinct!

ReplyDeleteFair warning.... yesterday at my pal's home here in Northern Burbs of Sydney (edging with busland), we took the Christmas Decorations box down from the garage shelf.....only to drop and jump back as the feisty possum did not like being woken up!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Our Joanna lives in a house with woods in the back. She often hears coyotes howling out there! The other night I saw a raccoon just walking along the sidewalk of the little town where the nursing home is. Deer often walk the sidewalks there at night and run across the main street towards the super market (maybe for the salad bar?) They figure it's their town too!
