First, there was breakfast. Mom made french toast on leftover homemade French bread with bacon and bourbon maple syrup.
Bourbon Maple Syrup
1 Tablespoon butterBourbon Maple Syrup
3/4 cup maple syrup (the real stuff)
1/3 cup bourbon
pinch of salt
Simmer til heated and bubbly and serve over french toast, pancakes, or waffles.
Mom always has Bourbon and other spirits on hand for
Then it was time for a short ride in Mom's big black Bat Truck with Dad.
My ear had been bugging me lately so the dogtor put some medicine in it, and packed it real good, and I'll go back next week to remove the packing in it as I had an IN-Fact-Tion in there they said, common in labs.
The pet Horse-Spittle is on a busy street, and I got to go in an exam room that had a glass window down at floor level so while I waited a few minutes I could watch all that was going on.
Wow . CARS! TRUCKS! DOGS! A BICYCLE. More DOGS! It's like Pet TV!
I wonder if they get H-Bone-O?
I wonder if they get H-Bone-O?
Then Dad drove me home in Mom's Truck, and I got a treat.
What a great way to start the day!!!! It sounds like a very fun day except for the ear infAction. Lightnig is dealing with an ear issue too, but luckily no infAction. He got a shot that is making him drink and pee a lot and some drops for his ears. Dr. Vet says he has to use the drops FOREVER!!!! That is not making him too happy.
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend.

I do hope the drops work. Lab ears are always fussy. - Hugs - LB

ReplyDeleteOh Abby, I do hope your ear is okay... I saw that you got your peeps their own something to hatch... it is only fitting you got the treat of pet-tv!!! Sorry it had to be at the V-E-T though... a wee bit of POTP coming your way. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Other than the ear the Bet said Abby was in good health. We're guessing on her age as she was dumped at a high kill shelter with minimal information but the Vet thinks she's about nine. Good weight, good joints, and no lumpy things on her yet (labs are prone to benign fatty tumours). Thanks for your friendship and caring.
DeleteOh Abby,
ReplyDeletePlease take all your medicine for your ear infection.
You do want to be able to hear Santa land on your roof right?
We know you been one of the best pups in blogville

ReplyDeleteWe cocker spaniels KNOW about ear infections. I'm actually lucky I haven't gotten any serious ones yet. Joey dog had them all the time! Hope your ears get better soon. That one week treatment stuff usually works well.
