Water Dogs

Before we get started with our "water dog" adventures please keep the following Blogville friends in your thoughts and prayers as they live in the current projected path of Irma. Noodle evacuated to a family member's home that offers better shelter just a few miles away. The pugs, as well as Lily and company, are hunkering down at home with lots of supplies in place.  Update: DeWeenies of Florida are safely in Michigan with family.  Bell Fur Zoo, we think is on the east coast of Florida and hopefully OK, and they have family in Tennessee to go to if need be.

The Labrador Retriever - a playful and athletic lover of all things water, commonly viewed each year at a water dog competition.

And then there is Abby Lab
She just walked in circles around it, not even putting in a toe.  Her Dad tried the ball but she just backed away.
"Crickey!  Look at the bottom,  there's alligators in there!"
"Mom said I had to wait an hour after eating before going in the water.  Seriously."
"Look, I don't know why you two weirdo's bought me the world's biggest water bowl but I like my little bowl better."
 "Sure, it's just water."

"I'm not sure why but Mom put on shorts and is standing in my bowl. But she also  has a treat."
"Seriously, Mom, you need some self tanner on those legs."
"Oh, a tasty treat, but someone's standing in the bowl with it."
"My treat!  It's like Ivory Soap, it floats!"
"Score!  And I didn't get my feet wet!"

  4. Abby we have had the same reaction to a large drinking bowl too. DaWeenies of Florida made their way to Michigan to stay with family during Irma's trip through Florida. They were trying to find a hotel to stay in but none would take them with 8 dogs. We learned about this through Facebook. If their internet/power stays up at home they are going to try to keep track of what happens to their house through their security system.

  5. Mom is like Casper the Friendly Ghost white. In the 70's she'd go bake herself with baby oil, sunburn, and then she'd peel and still be all white underneath.

  7. I love to play in the water!

We'll be thinking about our Florida friend's. My Florida associate Miss Charlee and her humans are in Boca Raton staying with friend's in their hurricane proof house. She says they're having 87mph winds right now. So far so good.
