Travel-Logs

Dad's finally home.  He got to sit in business class on his flight home with Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top, and that's all he could talk about. What about ME Dad, what about Mom and Me chasing Petey the possum out of the yard, and what happened to the last of the Cadbury Bar.

Oh what? - Enough of our stories? We've had our sleep and it's time for foodables.  What's that?  I heard the sound of a bowl.
I hear it, I smell something.
 Could it be?
Yo, Mom.  Dad has foodables and I don't! It's a bowl of Great Nuts (I hear they're made out of stone-ground squirrels).
 The prosecution objects!
Look - I'm not against bribery.  Will $15 get me a bowl of Great Nuts?
Fine - distract me with throwing a stuffie.
 He Shoots. She Scores.
Oh boy, that's the ball my boyfriend Frankie Furter's family sent.
 I got it!
Seriously, Mom, you're not on your game, first the cereal and now a Chewy box that's been sitting here for like four YEARS.
I'll just sit here and starve to death, you all go ahead and open the boxes and listen to ZZ Top.

  1. Humans! How come they get a whole bowl full of foodables and they only throw us one or two pieces from it. We are willing to share our dogfood with them.

    1. It was the biggest possum I'd ever seen. I smelled it under the evergreen bush and chased it out of there and then Mom chased it out of the yard. Dad put up some mesh gate material where it entered the bush to keep it out of there but left enough room for the rabbits who disappeared with Mr. Possum showed up. - Abby Lab

    1. Mom's still a little "sniffy" but she's feeling much better and made it to church this morning (last week she had to skip as she was super contagious). She even said she'd make sourdough blueberry muffins when it cools down a little bit this evening.
      Abby.

  5. Oooh I love when dad comes home from work trips coz he always brings me a new toy or treats! I do hope you eventually got those nuts from him! PS... have you ever caught a possum?! I see them all the time and I'm desperate to catch one of those pesky guys - so any tips you have on tracking them down would be most appreciated!
Lots of licks, your good mate Morrie!

  7. Possum??? Did you get it??? Thunder cornered one in our yard. Mom thought it was Dad - she thinks Thunder may have taken a bite. It was dark, she ran and got a shovel to move it out of the fenced area while she tried to figure what to do with it after that. Just as she started to load it on the shovel, it scared the crap out of her and got up and moved away!!! She hopes no possum ever comes in our yard again:)

  8. I am glad that your dad is home. I am sorry that he got fuzz all over him from a beard. It is hard not to get distracted by toys when there is food available. You need to make a rule that you eat first.
