Monday Morning Moochers

After the storm, Monday morning dawns serene and beautiful.
Hey lady, where's my peanuts!

  1. That tree rat expects your Mom to trudge through ALL that snow you got (and we didn't) and feed YOU???? You know what, we have a good feeling that she did exactly that - that's just what she does:)

    1. Dad dug a path out to the squirrel feeding location, he's as much as a sucker as Mom is for the tree rats cute little whiskers.

    1. The side yard is not fenced (there was no way to do that with the driveway dividing up the two yards) and the squirrels know it.

  5. Those squirrels are so rude! We have one that insists we owe him a peanut butter sandwich! But that guy in your picture doesn't look like he's been starving!

    1. No, we have a forest preserve very close which has a lot more food sources, but it also has a lot of predators such as hawks and owls and coyotes. So the yard squirrels (there's 7 of them) that live in the old Spruces get spoiled. Every morning in the dead of winter I put out food and a little Tupperware of water at the base of one of the trees where they are shielded from the flying predators. The red squirrels always look more plump than the grays do, though they have equal access to food.

  7. I don't knows....the tree rats here are killing all of Ma's plants, so she doesn't have much use for feedin' the little suckers! And I TRY and do my job by chasin' them outta the yardie, butts there are SO many of them! they loves the acorns from our trees, so my work is never done.....
